Local students graduate from Fort Lewis College
In a ceremony on Saturday, December 19, 2015, over 200 Fort Lewis College graduates and their families packed Whalen Gymnasium for Winter Commencement. The speaker chosen to offer the Commencement Address was Adventure Education Assistant Professor Lee Frazer, winner of the Alice Admire Outstanding Teaching Award.

Local academic athletes recognized
Local students were named to the 2015 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Basketball All-Academic Team. To qualify for First Team All-Academic consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters. All players who were not voted to the first Team All-Academic were automatically qualified for the All-Academic Honor Roll.

Fort Lewis College was named the #2 USA Cycling Collegiate Division 1 team in the nation for its performance during the 2014-15 academic year. In the five disciplines of cycling, FLC placed 2nd in Track, 3rd in Mountain Biking, 2nd in Cyclocross, 4th in BMX, and 5th in Road.

Resident Assistants are student staff members who live on a floor in a college residence hall to serve as primary resources for information and assistance. The objectives of Resident Assistants are to exhibit a concern for others and relate in a positive manner to the students. They are responsible for creating a living environment that is conducive to the academic mission of the College, maintaining the safety of the facility, and assisting the student in their college experiences.

Local Students from Fort Lewis College Women's Basketball Earn Inaugural RMAC Brechler Award
Fort Lewis College earned the inaugural Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Brechler Award for women's basketball. The conference recognized all 21 teams with the top grade point averages in each of the conference's sports. Fort Lewis finished the season with an 18-11 overall record and their sixth straight appearance in the NCAA post-season playoffs.
